Prep School Achievements

This is my Prep School Achievements page. For the first year I attended Vaz Pre-School (age - 3 yrs.). Kids usually spend one year in Pre-School before moving on to Kindergarten in Prep School followed by Grades 1 through 6. So from Kindergarten to Grade 5 (i.e. a period of six years) I had the highest grade average in my class (i.e. I came first in every mid-year and end of year examinations). In Grade 5 I had the highest average for mid year examinations, however I had the second highest in the end of year averages. In grade six I took my first major examinations, the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) and won a place at Campion College where I now attend school. Only about the top 1% of successful candidates island-wide, is granted a place at Campion College. The following is a summary of my most notable Prep School achievements:

  • First place in three of three events at Pre-School Sports Day,

  • Launched my first website at six years of age.

  • First Place in every examination for six consecutive years,

  • Voted Form Prefect,

  • Captain of the School's Chess Team,

  • Attended Martial Arts Extravaganza at Hilton Hotel and saw Monkey Boxing live for the first time,

  • Granted membership in the Tai Shing Pek Kwar International Kung Fu Federation by Master Chan Kai Leung. Spoke with Grandmaster Chan Sau Chung and Master Chan Kai Leung many times on the telephone from Jamaica.

  •  Spelling Bee representative,

  • First Dan Black Belt in Karate,

  • Won a total of fifteen(15) first place trophies and medals, ten(10) second and third place trophies and medals each and one(1) fourth place trophy for a total of thirty-six(36) trophies and medals at local martial arts tournaments over the years,

  • Placement based on GSAT examination results at Campion College,

  • Won The Principal's Prize for the student who best represents the core values on the school.

  • Started to learn Northern Shaolin Kung Fu under Sifu Troy Gonsalves, (Si-hing Joshua Jureidini is the monkey specialist).

  • Promoted from beginner through red to green sash in kung fu.

  • Represented Jamaica at the Sixth Annual International Kung Fu Championships, Orlando Florida (2004) - entered three events and won Gold Medals in each (i.e. three Gold Medals).

  • Awarded The Principal's Prize for high achievement at my graduation from Prep School. This prize is awarded to the student who best exemplies the core values of the school.

This brings my Prep School Achievements page to an end (i.e. unless through my usual streak of genius I remember something outstanding that happened back then which somehow was not included on the page at this time.
