Fourth Form
Welcome to my Fourth Form page and yes, this is my fourth year in High School with an end of third year average of 83%. This is the time at which I need focus on the subjects for my career choice. Orientation for my year is on August 30 but school officially re-opens for classes on September 3. I have been placed on the first shift, meaning my normal school day now begins at 8:00 am and ends at 1:50 pm. Due to my choice in subjects, I will have an extended school day on three days of each week. The subjects of my choice are as follows:
- Mathematics
- English Language
- English Literature
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Biology
- Information Technology
- Technical Drawing
- Spanish
I intend to enter a career in the field of medicine although I am still undecided as to what specific profession I will choose. I have previously given thought to becoming a Paediatrician, however I am still undecided.
Activities of Summer 2007
I had many experiences during this summer. I went overseas and spent two weeks with my aunt and her family in Tampa, Florida. The rain and lightning was terrible as Tampa is known to have the worst lightening in the world second only to Paris, France. Soon after my return to Jamaica, I entered the Generating Genius summer programme. I had taken part in both parts of the programme. The first part of the programme was devoted to Robotics which lasted for a week. During the classes, we learnt about sensors and the professions involved in Robotics. We also built a Tankbot using basic Lego pieces and a Remote Control Explorer (RCX). There were roughly ten of us in the programme and we were required to do a final project and make presentation to which our parents were invited to attend.
